Excerpts from Mike's Letter Home:

12/23/2002

Dear Parents,

This week will only be a short letter, since I will be talking to you soon and time is always limited.

Elder Sorenson and I have been getting along pretty well. I have been learning a lot about him really quickly. We have been talking too much, so it has been hard to get ourselves out the door... so we will have to push ourselves harder in the coming weeks. That doesn't mean we did not work this week, but there is room to work harder.

We had Zone conference this week, it was nice to hear President Peterson. We also played Book of Mormon Jeopardy for a change of pace. It was amazing all that I have learned in the last year and a half (BYU & mission) about it.

Also of interest, in Priesthood meeting on Sunday the lesson was on the temple. With those that were there, just Elder Sorenson and I were the only two who had actually been to the temple and could contribute to the lesson. Most of the Branch leadership was running around trying to finish up things before the new year, so they did not participate.

The coming week is looking to be slow since everyone is busy and stressed with Christmas. We have a little fiber optic tree that someone sent Elder Sorenson, with our gifts gathered around it. We both are looking forward to Christmas, it will be a nice change of pace.

Take care, I miss you!

Love,
Elder Michael Robinson
