Excerpts from Mike's Letter Home:

10/14/2002

Dear Parents,

I hope you are doing well, and that dad enjoyed his organist convention. I am doing pretty well, but my companion is sick (he will probably be better by the time you get this letter.) For some reason or another we have had a lot of cancellations this week (even from some of the members.) Kind of discouraging, but it doesn't stop us from working.

Also of note is the transfers are on November 1st. Since I will have completed 3 months of training, there is a high probability that I will be transferred. It's not certain, but it's pretty likely. Where I will go, who knows? However, I will miss Bartlesville and Elder Marshall.

In case you were wondering about mail that is sent to the mission office, they used to just collect it and pass it out at zone conference (every 6 weeks.) However , they are now just forwarding it to our areas. So if someone sent something to the mission office, I would see it about 2 to 3 days later... compared to if they sent it directly to me. Just thought you might like to know that.. for when you give out my address.

You asked if we now drive to Pawhuska on Thursdays... we do not. First off, we changed the day to Wednesday. Secondly, we share the car with the other Bartlesville Elders and we have 1,00 miles per month all of us... and we have to take quite a few trips to Tulsa each month. We drive there (Pawhuska) on Sundays for church.

Sadly, our 2 baptismal commitments backed out on us... however, we still have another man committed... though he has cancelled a lot on us, so we assume he wants to be baptized... just that he has no particular time frame in mind. So, we shall have to see what happens.

Anyways, I wish you all (Grandma & Grandpa included) the best.

Love,
Elder Michael Robinson
