Dear Family,
Hopefully all is going well now that you are back home. We had a pretty good week. I got to spend a day on exchanges in Ava, Missouri. While I was there, we tracted into a 90 year old man who still takes care of 35 cows and 9 buffalo. He said he loves it, but I hope to be retired by then.
Mom assumed that because she did not get an e-mail that I am still in Nixa. While this is correct, it is not a safe assumption. I would not have had the ability to e-mail you if I was about to be transferred. So, if I was you, I would not assume either way.
I am glad to hear that Grandma 5's funeral went well. Have I ever met my great uncle Byron? Thank you for the pictures and filling in for me on the "too bad". Though, like I said, let me know if there is anything I can do.
One interesting happening of the week, I randomly took a different route than normal and got flagged down by a van. It was members who had just moved from Washington. They are living in a trailer closer to Branson. They asked us where the church was and the time. They showed up at Church and told us that it was a good thing they saw us, because our church building (which is close to them) was not listed. The dad said he saw us and tried to get over to us, but found himself pulling into what appeared to be a dead end, when we just happened to be right next to him. It was pretty cool, but always nice to talk to members.
We are continuing to teach the Raleigh family. They are progressing very well, and still enjoying Church. We got to go with them to the baptism of an eight year-old from the Ward. They liked the fact it was straight forward and simple. We have also enjoyed some great Chinese cooking that the wife makes. It truly is like a high class restaurant eating over there. They are excited about the Church, and we are excited for teaching them. Plus, the Ward is excited.
Out talks in Church went pretty well. Attendance was a little low, and not everyone seemed to be awake to begin with. Though, we did receive quite a few compliments. I enjoy speaking in front of congregations, it is much more natural for me than in small groups. So, at least I enjoyed it.
We are really enjoying the slightly cooler weather. It sure makes it feel nice! Though, we will have to wait and see how long this lasts. I also heard that BYU won it's first game of the season, Go Cougars! Could you print me out a schedule so I know when they are playing and can ask members who won.
Upon looking at my bike, I have noticed that my rear brake cable is about to snap. So, I will have buy some more cable and wire cutters with the new headlight I will be ordering (from a bicycle parts magazine). Needless to say, I am still excited about bicycles and can hardly wait till I get home and can put money and time into a nice road bike. I may just have to make the San Diego trip on my own prior to college. For now, I will just stick to upgrading my mountain bike. For some reason, I just enjoy bicycling.
Oh well, that is about it for this week. We have zone conference tomorrow. Today (Labor Day) we got invited to lunch and dinner at two places. So, we will be well fed and not a lot time for other things. This coming week should be good as well. Thank you for all that you do. The Wal-Mart gift certificate from mom is greatly appreciated!!! Anyways, take care and I miss you all so much.
